Drug Free Schools and Communities Act
Pursuant to federal legislation, the University of Richmond is required to communicate information regarding the unlawful manufacture, possession, use or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs to its student and employees.
The unlawful manufacture, dispensing, possession, use or distribution of alcohol or illicit drugs by students and employees on University property, as part of its activities, is prohibited.
Legal sanctions under local, state and federal law for the unlawful possession, use or distribution of alcohol or illicit drugs are applicable to student and employees. Any employee or student who violates this policy is subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment, expulsion from the University, referral for prosecution, and/or referral for satisfactory participation in an appropriate evaluation or rehabilitation program.
The purpose of the Alcohol & Drug Policy is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the members of the University community and the public being served by the community.
Applicability
All University of Richmond students, faculty and staff.
